FCE and CAE are international certificates recognized by employers, universities and colleges around the world.
The course will prepare candidates/students to pass all four exam skills: writing, reading, speaking and listening.
Who should take the FCE exam?
* It is suitable for people who want to work, live, or study in an English-speaking country at a foundation or pre-university level.
What skills are tested?
* The exam tests four key language skills: Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking
What is the format and timing of the exam?
* Reading and Use of English: 75 minutes, including seven parts testing grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
* Writing: 80 minutes, writing two pieces (140–190 words) such as essays, letters, or reviews.
* Listening: 40 minutes, answering questions after listening to recorded speeches or conversations.
* Speaking: 14 minutes, conducted face-to-face with one or two other candidates and examiners, organized in four short sub-sections.
How is the exam scored?
* Scores range from 140 to 190 on the Cambridge English scale. A score of 160 or above is a pass, giving a B2-level certificate.
* Scores of 180+ earn a C1-level certificate. Scores between 140 and 160 may result in a B1-level certificate.
Can the exam be taken on computer or paper?
* The FCE can be taken either on paper or computer, depending on the test center.
Can I use a dictionary during the exam?
* No, using a dictionary during the FCE exam is not allowed.
